You either know, or you don’t know:

How do you shop?

I’ve noticed I fall into two buckets:

I know exactly what I want
I go online, find the best price, and buy it.

I don’t know exactly what I need
I talk to someone who does.

Here’s the interesting part…

In the second scenario, I’m more than willing to pay more.

Why?

Because now I’m not buying a product.

I’m buying:
clarity
confidence
ease
a better experience

Price becomes secondary.

I can’t help but see the same thing in self storage.

Online rentals were a huge step forward.

They’re perfect for the customer who already knows:
unit size
location
timing

Fast. Easy. Done.

But there’s a large group of renters who don’t know:
what size they need
how long they’ll stay
what actually fits their situation

Those customers don’t want speed.
They want guidance.

That’s where:
phone calls
reservations
in-person conversations
actually win.

We all have:
properties
websites
online move-ins

That’s table stakes.

The real question is:
Do you have a system that makes it easy for a renter to understand their need and confidently say yes?

Because that’s where the real difference is made.
